While many places have been savagely inundated, our area has had gentler flooding. The bridge to Nerrigundah has been under a few times, the creeks have opened at Potato Point and South Jemisons, waves have washed up the beach laden with white foam, slightly greasy to the foot, and nature has managed lovely charcoal patterns in the sand, which she then promptly washes away. My  tea-cup-on-a-stick at the front door, a makeshift rain-gauge, has needed to be emptied most days. But it is very small.
